[00:11.66]Scientists who study the brain
[00:13.18]and the nervous system have learnt a lot

[00:19.67]they've mapped different areas of the brain
[00:21.72]which are responsible for different functions.

[00:26.89]are related to different parts of our body

[00:31.18]A good example of this can be seen
[00:32.70]in people who have lost an arm or a leg
[00:34.73]in an accident.
[00:36.36]Though they don't have an arm or a leg
[00:38.43]they can still have feelings from it,like pain.

[00:43.41]And these areas of our brain control
[00:45.39]all our movements.
[00:47.59]Right, now just put up both of your arms.
[00:50.82]That's right, put thme both up.
[00:55.22]Now to do that, a specific area of your brain,
[00:58.59]responsible for your arm movement,
[01:00.42]had to send out electronic impulses
[01:02.27]to your arms.
[01:04.20]It's really quite a complicated operation.
