人家會怎么議論呢?
Mrs. Grundy 格蘭迪夫人，源自美國劇作家托馬斯·摩頓的戲劇《加快犁的速度》中的人物，她是一個極其古板的人。后來人們就用Mrs. Grundy來比喻那些“過分重規(guī)矩的人，拘泥禮節(jié)的人”。What will Mrs. Grundy say? 直譯過來就是：“格蘭迪夫人會怎么樣說呢?”，這個短語的正確意思是：“人家會怎么議論呢?”。因此，當(dāng)美國人說"What will Mrs. Grundy say?"時，他/她要表達(dá)的意思就是:"How will others talk about it?"、"What will other people think about it?"。
