get a load of sth.直譯過來就是：“得到一堆……”，這個短語的正確意思是：“仔細地看，仔細地聽”。因此，當美國人說"Get a load of this!"時，他/她要表達的意思就是:"Listen carefully!"、"Please focus on what I am talking about."。
