Seeing is believing是一句家喻戶曉的諺語，其出處現(xiàn)已無法考證，是代代普通民眾長期積累流傳下來的思想。這個諺語用一個中國的成語來對照就是：“眼見為實”，意譯過來就是：“百聞不如一見”。因此，當美國人說"Seeing is believing."時，他/她要表達的意思就是"What you see is true."、"One eyewitness is better than ten hearsays."、"A picture is worth a thousand words."。
