■in action 在活動(dòng)中，在進(jìn)行中，在運(yùn)轉(zhuǎn)中，在戰(zhàn)斗中

The machine is now in action. 機(jī)器正在運(yùn)轉(zhuǎn)。

He was killed in action in France. 他在法國(guó)陣亡。

I’ve heard he’s an excellent player but I’ve never seen him in action. 我聽(tīng)說(shuō)他是位高手，但還從未實(shí)地見(jiàn)過(guò)。

■in addition 加之，又，另外

There was an earthquake and, in addition, there were tidal waves. 除了地震之外，還有海嘯。

【注】表示“用現(xiàn)金（付款）”，英語(yǔ)通常用in cash，有時(shí)也用by cash，但是語(yǔ)習(xí)慣上不說(shuō)with cash。如：

Unless paying by credit card, please pay in cash. 除非用信用卡付款，否則請(qǐng)付現(xiàn)金。

The purchase price is less if you pay by cash. 付現(xiàn)金的話，價(jià)錢(qián)便宜些。
