115. The Great Wall 長(zhǎng)城

The Great Wall, one of the Wonders of the World , is the longest wall in the world. It is actually over six thousand kilometers long, about seven meters high and four to five meters wide.

世界奇觀之一長(zhǎng)城是世界上最長(zhǎng)的墻，長(zhǎng)6000公里，約7米高，4、5米寬。

The Great wall was first built in the Spring and Autumn Period over 2,500 years ago, and, the separated sections were later connected in the Qing Dynasty. The wall was all man-made since there was no machinery at all at that time. Hundreds and thousands people died when they built it. Up to now, the Great Wall has been rebuilt many times. It has become a place of tourist interest.

長(zhǎng)城最早建于春秋時(shí)期，距今約2500年，秦朝時(shí)代，這些分散的城墻被連接起來(lái)，形成今天的長(zhǎng)城。長(zhǎng)城完全是人工建造，因?yàn)楫?dāng)時(shí)根本沒(méi)有任何機(jī)械，成千上萬(wàn)的民工在建造過(guò)程中喪身。
