68. Helping Father Stop Smoking 幫助爸爸戒煙
One evening, while my family was watching TV in the sitting room, my father began to smoke a cigarette. Soon the room was full of smoke.
一天晚上，我們正在起居室看電視，爸爸開始吸煙，很快房間里滿是煙霧。
Mother asked him to stop smoking, but Father said it was too difficult. I sat aside and wondered what I could do. Then I had an idea.
媽媽讓他戒煙，但爸爸說很難。我坐在一旁思忖該怎么辦。很快我有主意了。
The next day I gave a packet of cigarettes to my father and whispered to him. Seeing that, Mother looked puzzled. Some days later, Mother wondered why Father didn't smoke any longer.
第二天，我給爸爸一包煙，并與他說悄悄話。媽媽看到這一切感到疑惑不解。幾天以后，媽媽驚訝地發(fā)現(xiàn)爸爸戒煙了。
Father explained that the cigarettes I had given him were a special kind, that could help people give up smoking. We all laughed.
爸爸解釋說，我送給他的是一種特殊香煙，可以幫助戒煙。我們三人都笑了。
