1.What's Ron Marston like, Pauline? 波琳，朗·馬斯頓是怎樣一個人?

2.He telephoned me four times yesterday…他昨天給我打了4次電話……

four times, 4次。 time在英語中作不可數(shù)名詞時表示“時間”;作可數(shù)名詞時表示“次數(shù)”。請注意英語中次數(shù)的表示法：

twice 兩次

three times 3次

3次或3次以上通常都用基數(shù)詞+ times表示：

This is…是英美人打電話時表示“我是……”的句式，而不說

一、語法講解

一般過去時

be動詞以外的動詞在一般過去時中一般有兩種形式。規(guī)則動詞一般是在動詞后面加-ed，如 answered;以-e結(jié)尾的規(guī)則動詞加-d，如 telephoned, arrived。另一部分動詞的過去式拼寫不規(guī)則，因此稱為不規(guī)則動詞，如：say----said, do----did。

用一般過去時的句子中常常有表示過去某一時刻的時間狀語，如本課中的 yesterday(昨天)，the day before yesterday(前天)，yesterday morning(昨天上午)，yesterday afternoon(昨天下午)，yesterday evening(昨天晚上)，last night(昨夜)。

answer

(1)v. 對……作出反應(yīng);響應(yīng)：

Who answered the telephone? 誰接的電話?

Mary took a few minutes to answer the door. 瑪麗拖了幾分鐘時間才去開門。

(2)v. 回答;答復(fù)：

I don't think you've answered my question. 我認為你沒有回答我的問題。

I wrote him several letters but couldn't get an answer. 我給他寫了好幾封信，可都沒有回音。

Do you know the answer to Question 10? 你知道第10題的答案嗎?
