第一段語(yǔ)法符號(hào)詳解：

1. the influence has been neglected.

簡(jiǎn)單句，主謂結(jié)構(gòu).

2. Modern industry is based on the conception…

復(fù)合句，主句主謂賓結(jié)構(gòu)，in order that 引導(dǎo)目的狀語(yǔ)從句，為主謂結(jié)構(gòu).

3. It has expanded…who…

復(fù)合句，主句為主謂結(jié)構(gòu)，后面跟了 who 引導(dǎo)的定語(yǔ)從句，為主謂賓結(jié)構(gòu). and 前后各有一個(gè) without 短語(yǔ)作伴隨狀語(yǔ)，屬于并列結(jié)構(gòu).

4. The great cities have been built…

簡(jiǎn)單句，主謂結(jié)構(gòu).

5. The shape and dimensions depend on the necessity…that…

復(fù)合句，主句為主謂賓結(jié)構(gòu)，最后有一個(gè) that 引導(dǎo)的定語(yǔ)從句，為主謂賓結(jié)構(gòu).

6. This caused the construction…where…

復(fù)合句，主句為主謂賓結(jié)構(gòu)，后面 where 引導(dǎo)的定語(yǔ)從句為主謂結(jié)構(gòu).

7. Civilized men like a way.

簡(jiǎn)單句，主謂賓結(jié)構(gòu).

8. While…, they do not realize that…

復(fù)合句，主句為主謂+賓語(yǔ)從句結(jié)構(gòu)，最前面是 while 引導(dǎo)的時(shí)間狀語(yǔ)從句，主謂賓結(jié)構(gòu)，后面 that 引導(dǎo)的賓語(yǔ)從句亦為主謂賓結(jié)構(gòu).

9. The modern city consists of edifices and of dark, narrow streets…

并列句，均為主謂賓結(jié)構(gòu)，第二句省略了主語(yǔ)和部分謂語(yǔ).

本句教材編者有所改動(dòng)，美式的一些表達(dá)更改為了英式，原著為：The modern city consists of monstrous edifices and of dark, narrow streets full of gasoline fumes, coal dust, and toxic gases, torn by the noise of the taxicabs, trucks, and trolleys, and thronged ceaselessly by great crowds.
