　　The old lady was glad to be back at the block offlats where she lived. Her shopping had tiredher and her basket had grown heavier withevery step of the way home. In the lift herthoughts were on lunch and a good rest; butwhen she got out at her own floor, both wereforgotten in her sudden discovery that her frontdoor was open.

　　語言點1:be glad to do的意思是“高興做。”

　　語言點2:flat的意思是“公寓”，是英式英語，美式英語則為apartment。

　　去商店買東西把她搞得筋疲力盡;在回家的路上，她每走一步，就感到手里的籃子又重了一點。
