37課 The Olympic Games

The Olympic Games will be held in our countryin four years'time. As a great many peoplewillbe visiting the country, the government willbe building new hotels, an immense stadium,and a fine new swimming pool. They will also bebuilding new roads and a special railway-line.The Games will be held just outside the capital andthe whole area will be called 'Olympic City'. Workerswill have completed the new roads by the end of thisyear. By the end of next year, they will have finishedwork on the new stadium. The fine modern buildings have been designed by Kurt Gunter.Everybody will be watching anxiously as the new buildings go up. We are all very excited and arelooking forward to the Olympic Games because they have never been held before in thiscountry.

語(yǔ)法歸納：將來(lái)完成時(shí)

將來(lái)完成時(shí)的形式：shall / will have +過(guò)去分詞，一句話(huà)總結(jié)：表示將來(lái)某個(gè)時(shí)間之前已經(jīng)完成的動(dòng)作，常與by, before連接的時(shí)間狀語(yǔ)搭配使用。

They will have lived in Beijing for 25 years by next month.

到下個(gè)月，他們?cè)诒本┚鸵呀?jīng)住了25年了。

By the end of this week I will have worked in this company for two years.

到這個(gè)周末，我已經(jīng)在這家公司工作兩年了。

On Friday the workers will have finished this plaza.

到星期五，工人們將會(huì)完成這個(gè)廣場(chǎng)的工程。

1. The Olympic Games will be held in our country in four year's time.

奧運(yùn)會(huì)將于四年后在我們國(guó)家舉辦。

語(yǔ)言點(diǎn)1 這是一個(gè)將來(lái)時(shí)被動(dòng)語(yǔ)態(tài)的典型句式。

語(yǔ)言點(diǎn)2 hold—詞多義，常用于以下短語(yǔ)：

1) hold against 責(zé)怪

We shouldn't hold his past mistakes against him.

我們不應(yīng)該因?yàn)樗^(guò)去的過(guò)錯(cuò)而責(zé)怪他。

2) hold back = hold in, keep back 控制;阻止

I was unable to hold back my anger any longer.

我無(wú)法控制我的怒火了。

3) hold down 壓低

The government will hold the prices down.

政府將會(huì)把物價(jià)壓下來(lái)。

4) hold off = put off 拖延

Will the snow hold off until after the game?

雪會(huì)拖到比賽結(jié)束之后再下嗎?

5) hold out

Will the old car hold out till we reach Shanghai?

這輛舊車(chē)能夠支持到我們抵達(dá)上海嗎?

6) hold to 堅(jiān)持

My wife will hold to her decision.

我妻子將堅(jiān)持她的決定。

7) hold up提出(作為榜樣)

Bill was held up as a model of good husband.

比爾被推舉為模范丈夫。

8) hold on不掛斷電話(huà);堅(jiān)持，保持

The speaker held on for a full hour.

演講者講了整整一個(gè)小時(shí)。

2. As a great many people will be visiting the country, the government will be buildingnew hotels, an immense stadium, and a new Olympic-standard swimming pool.

因?yàn)闀?huì)有很多人到我國(guó)來(lái)，政府準(zhǔn)備建造一些新的飯店、一個(gè)大型體育場(chǎng)和一個(gè)新的標(biāo)準(zhǔn)的奧運(yùn)會(huì)游泳館。

語(yǔ)言點(diǎn)1 as的用法總結(jié)：

表示比較，as...as意為“和……一樣，像……一樣”：

Bill is as stupid as John. 比爾像約翰一樣傻。

表示方式，意為“像，如同;按照”

Run as I do. 像我這樣跑。

3) 表示時(shí)間，意為“當(dāng)……的時(shí)候，一邊……一邊……”：

She sang as she worked. 她一邊工作一邊唱歌。

I saw my sister as she was getting off the bus. 我妹妹下公共汽車(chē)時(shí)，我看見(jiàn)了她。

4) 作介詞，意為“作為”：

As a child, I lived in the country. 我小時(shí)候住在鄉(xiāng)下。

5) 表示原因，意為“因?yàn)?，既?rdquo;：

As you are tired, you had better rest. (既然)你累了，最好休息一下。

6) 表示結(jié)果和目的，意為“以至于，以便”：

Be so good as to come and join our party. 請(qǐng)務(wù)必來(lái)參加我們的舞會(huì)。

7) 表示讓步，意為“雖然，盡管”：

Rich as he is, he is not happy. (注意此處用倒裝)雖然他很富，但他并不幸福。

語(yǔ)言點(diǎn)2 關(guān)于“旅館”的多個(gè)表達(dá)：

hotel, inn, roadhouse, motel(汽車(chē)旅館),tavern, hostel, saloon

3. They will also be building new roads and a special railway line.

他們還將修筑一些新的道路和一條鐵路專(zhuān)線(xiàn)。

語(yǔ)言點(diǎn)1 “建筑”一般需要很長(zhǎng)的時(shí)間，所以采用將來(lái)進(jìn)行時(shí)will be building。
