Roy Trenton used to drive a taxi. A short whileago, however, he became a bus driver andhehas not regretted it. He is finding his newwork far more exciting. When he was driving alongCatford Street recently, he saw two thieves rush outof a shop and run towards a waiting car. One ofthem was carrying a bag full of money. Roy actedquickly and drove the bus straight at the thieves.Theone with the money got such a fright that hedropped the bag. As the thieves were trying to getaway in their car, Roy drove his bus into the back of it. While the battered car was movingaway, Roy stopped his bus and telephoned the police. The thieves' car was badly damaged andeasy to recognize. Shortlyafterwards, the police stopped the car and both men were arrested.

一句話總結：系動詞后常加名詞、不定式、分詞和形容詞等作表語。
系動詞可分為六類：
感觀系動詞：look看起來;sound聽起來;taste嘗起來;smell聞起來;feel摸上去

持續(xù)系動詞：remain保持; keep維持; stay保持;stand維持不變;rest靜止;lie平放;展開

注意：可帶名詞作表語的系動詞：be, become, make, look, sound, fall, prove, remain, turn。特別注意：turn—詞后接單數名詞前一般不用冠詞。
Last year be turned teacher.去年，他成為了老師。
