I entered the hotel manager's office and satdown. I had just lost $50 and I felt veryupset.‘I left the money in my room,' I said,‘andit's not there now.' The manager wassympathetic, but he could do nothing. ‘Everyone'slosing money these days,' he said. He started tocomplain about this wicked world but wasinterrupted by a knock at the door. A girl came inand put an envelope on his desk. Itcontained $50. ‘I found this outside this gentleman'sroom,' she said. ‘Well,' I said to the manager, ‘there is still some honesty in this world!'
