新概念英語第三冊強(qiáng)調(diào)詞匯解析

時(shí)光如梭，白駒過隙。屈指算來，從我第一次接觸“新三”到現(xiàn)在，已經(jīng)十個(gè)年頭有余。依我自己的學(xué)習(xí)體會(huì)來看，“新三”中有一個(gè)非常實(shí)用但又容易被人忽略的語言現(xiàn)象，那就是我在這里所要給大家詮釋的——強(qiáng)調(diào)詞匯。一旦徹底掌握了這個(gè)語言點(diǎn)，你其實(shí)就掌握了日常口語及寫作中非常重要的基本語言“潤色”能力。

與此同時(shí)，這一類詞語由于其具備強(qiáng)調(diào)的意義通常也是句子中需要“重讀”的關(guān)鍵詞語，掌握它們的其作用自然不言而喻。我相信，列出的大部分詞語都是大家使用的高頻詞匯。但是，真正在意識(shí)上會(huì)把它們當(dāng)成一類工具詞語來使用并且刻意添加以加強(qiáng)語氣或充實(shí)句子的人很少。要知道，積累、分類強(qiáng)調(diào)詞匯其實(shí)是通向語言variety(多樣性)的第一條道路，非常關(guān)鍵。

當(dāng)然，詞不離句，我在這里首先要澄清一個(gè)優(yōu)先概念：強(qiáng)調(diào)句型(注意不是強(qiáng)調(diào)句)。表示強(qiáng)調(diào)的句型我們簡稱為“強(qiáng)調(diào)句型”，包括倒裝句強(qiáng)調(diào)句感嘆句等。這里我主要涉及的是強(qiáng)調(diào)句型中的一支：“強(qiáng)調(diào)詞匯”——即通過詞匯來表達(dá)情感。

一、“很” ：VERY

在表示“非常”“很”或“太”的時(shí)候，我們有不少詞能夠表達(dá)類似的意思：

awfully (= terribly 既可表可怕 也有awfully beautiful = very beautiful表示“很”)

badly (非常極度 The babies are badly in need of domestic milk powder substitute.)

bloody (英式英語中表“忒”的意思 例如bloody well right表示“非常好”)

dame (英語口語表示強(qiáng)烈情感時(shí)候經(jīng)常用 例如“很好”用dame good)

deadly (極度的絕對的 He was deadly heartbroken by her ex-girlfriend.)

dearly (從深情引申到深深 He was dearly in love with her at that time.)

dreadfully (= terribly 例如表示“怕得要命”be dreadfully scared)

much (表很大程度上通常用作句首倒裝 引導(dǎo)轉(zhuǎn)折 Much as…+不帶but的轉(zhuǎn)折)

enormously (萬分非常 He was enormously grateful for her backing him up then.)

enough (表充足= abundant = adequate 但接在adj. adv. 后表示“很” well enough)

exceedingly (= extremely 非常好的同意替換詞He drove exceedingly fast.)

extremely (最常用的表極度的詞語)

even (更加 He looked even better/worse after the treatment. 有時(shí)能跟long替換)

far (相當(dāng)程度的 They seem far too close as normal friends.)

highly (各種講話中最常用的表示“高度”的詞 He was highly praised.高度贊揚(yáng))

over (太 過分的 例如over anxious表過度焦慮)

so (如此 It was so stupid of him to come up with such an idea that almost killed us.)

terribly(注意跟thanks to = because一樣沒有感情偏向He was terribly lucky.)

too (常跟其它表示“很”的詞搭配使用 He is only too willing to be of her service.)

way (常以way too/over/off/above搭配的形式出現(xiàn)表示“大大”或“遠(yuǎn)遠(yuǎn)超過”)

well (= way 例如His intelligence is well above an average 3-years old.)
