“Thank you，”Morgan said softly. “You have freed me from the magician’s spell. ”
Jack just stared at her.
“You were Peanut?”Annie said.
Morgan nodded and smiled.
“Really?You were with us all the time?” said Jack. “On all our missions?”
Morgan nodded again.
“Why did we have to go on this mission to find a mouse?” said Jack. “If you were always with us?”
“To break the spell，we had to be on the moon，” said Morgan. “You could have broken it the minute we arrived. ”
“Oh，that’s what Peanut—I mean you were trying to say!” said Annie. “We didn’t have to leave the moon base at all. ”
Morgan nodded，smiling.
“But the moon man came along to help us，”said Annie. “He drew a constellation of a mouse!Is he a friend of yours?”
Morgan shrugged. “Let’s just say we had a little talk. He stopped by the moon base while you were out. ”
“The same way you had a talk with the ninja master，right?” said Jack. “And the monkey and the sorcerer?”
Morgan nodded. “I always squeaked to the ones who helped you. ”
“But how did they understand you—a mouse?” said Jack.
Morgan smiled again. “Certain wise ones understand the language of little creatures，”she said.
“I bet it was you who turned the pages of the books!”said Annie. “To show us where to go next!”
Morgan nodded.
“But who turned you into a mouse?” said Annie.
Morgan frowned. “A certain person who likes to play tricks on me，”
she said. “His name is Merlin. ”
“Merlin!”said Jack. “The greatest magician who ever lived. ”
Morgan sniffed. “He’s not that great，”she said. “He doesn’t even know I have two brave friends who help me. ”
“Us?” said Annie shyly.
Morgan nodded. “And I thank you both with all my heart. ”
“You’re welcome，” said Jack and Annie.
Morgan handed Annie the Pennsylvania book. “Are you ready to go home now?”she asked.
“Yes!” said Jack and Annie.
Annie pointed to a picture of the Frog Creek woods. “I wish we could go there，” she said.
The tree house started to spin.
It spun faster and faster and faster.
Then everything was still.
Absolutely still.
But only for a moment.

“謝謝你們。”摩根溫柔地說(shuō)。“是你們把我從巫師的魔咒下解救了出來(lái)。”
杰克卻只顧看著她。
“你就是花生?”安妮問。
摩根點(diǎn)著頭笑了。
“真的?你一直跟我們?cè)谝黄?”杰克問，“你一直在我們的旅途中陪伴我們?”
摩根又點(diǎn)了點(diǎn)頭。
“為什么這次要我們跑這么遠(yuǎn)來(lái)找一個(gè)老鼠呢?”杰克問，“既然你一直和我們?cè)谝黄稹?rdquo;
“為了破除魔咒，我們必須到月球上來(lái)。”摩根說(shuō)，“你們本可以在我們一到月球就破除這個(gè)魔咒的。”
“哦，原來(lái)花生——我是說(shuō)你，一直想說(shuō)的就是這個(gè)!”安妮說(shuō)，“我們其實(shí)根本沒必要離開月球基地的。”
摩根點(diǎn)著頭笑了。
“但是月球人幫助了我們。”安妮說(shuō)，“他為我們畫了一個(gè)老鼠星座。他是你的朋友嗎?”
摩根聳了聳肩。“只能說(shuō)我們聊了兩句。在你們出去的時(shí)候，他正好經(jīng)過月球基地。”
“就是用你和忍者頭頭、小猴子、還有那個(gè)巫師聊天的那種方式，是吧?”杰克問。
摩根點(diǎn)了點(diǎn)頭。“我每次會(huì)對(duì)幫助你們的人吱吱地叫。”
“但是他們?cè)趺茨苊靼啄?mdash;—一只老鼠的意思呢?”杰克問道。
摩根笑了笑。“有些睿智的人是能明白小生靈的語(yǔ)言的。”她說(shuō)。
“我敢打賭是你翻的書!”安妮說(shuō)，“來(lái)告訴我們下一站該去哪里。”
摩根點(diǎn)了點(diǎn)頭。
“但是，是誰(shuí)把你變成老鼠的呢?”安妮問。
摩根皺了皺眉頭。“是一個(gè)喜歡捉弄我的人，他的名字叫梅林。”
“梅林!”杰克叫道，“是那個(gè)最了不起的魔法師!”
摩根從鼻子里哼了一聲。“他可沒那么了不起。”她說(shuō)，“他甚至不知道我還有兩個(gè)勇敢的朋友幫助我呢。”
“是說(shuō)我們嗎?”安妮害羞地說(shuō)。
摩根又點(diǎn)了點(diǎn)頭。“我要衷心地感謝你們。”
“不用謝!”杰克和安妮說(shuō)。
摩根把那本關(guān)于賓夕法尼亞的書交給安妮，對(duì)她說(shuō)：“現(xiàn)在你們準(zhǔn)備好要回家了嗎?”
“是的。”杰克和安妮說(shuō)。
安妮指著蛙溪樹林的圖片說(shuō)：“我希望我能去那里。”
樹屋開始打轉(zhuǎn)。
轉(zhuǎn)得越來(lái)越快，越來(lái)越快!
然后，一切都平靜了。
絕對(duì)的平靜!
不過，這平靜只是一剎那間的事情。
