Thanksgiving Day
Jim: Hello,Tracy.
Tracy: Hi,Jim.Why are you so excited?
Jim: Tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day .
Tracy: Thanksgiving Day? But it's just October.
Jim: In Canada,we have Thanksgiving Day on the second Monday in October.So I'm packing.
Tracy: Oh,Where are you going?
Jim: I'll go back to home and stay with my family then.
Tracy: Oh,that sounds good.I just read newspaper about Thanksgiving Day.
Jim: What's that?
Tracy: Taking about pilgrim ,starvation and turkey .
Jim: It's no more than a platitude.
Tracy: Not all of it.Here is article about the origins of Thanksgiving.Most people think of Thanksgiving as a North American holiday. The fact is that Thanksgiving's roots actually go back much further,across the Atlantic back into Europewhich is where a lot of the harvest celebrations originated at least in terms of European Western society.
Jim: Wow,that's interesting.I miss pumpkin pine and corn that my mom makes.Oh,would you like go with me?
Tracy: Oh,is that OK?
Jim: My parents are hospitable .
Tracy: I'd love to.By the way,Happy Thanksgiving Day!

特蕾西: 講了朝圣者、饑荒和火雞。
吉姆: 不過是老生常談。
特蕾西: 也不全是,也講了感恩節(jié)的起源,很多人都認(rèn)為感恩節(jié)是北美洲的節(jié)日,事實(shí)上可以追溯回更早之前的西歐社會(huì),人們就已經(jīng)舉辦豐收慶典,感謝富饒大自然給予的恩賜。
吉姆: 真有趣。我想念我媽媽做的南瓜派和玉米,你愿意一起來嗎?
特蕾西: 哦,可以嗎?
吉姆: 他們都很好客的。
