英國有很多公司采取彈性上下班的制度，員工可以自由選擇希望的上下班時間，午休時間等。上班時間可以在上午7點到10做彈性調(diào)整，下班時間則是在下午4點到6點之間，午休從上午11點到下午1點，員工可以自由決定休息多久。員工也可以選擇延長每日的工作時間，轉換成增加每個月的休假日數(shù)。

英國的上班族到了周五，喜歡到酒吧吃午飯，所以在英國，平日中午就開始喝含酒精的飲料的狀況且很常見。

在英國防大學職場中， 一般直接互稱名字， 只在初次見面的場合會互相稱呼對方的姓氏。
