“不。”愛德華很堅(jiān)決。
"He's no match for us, Edward. He won't be able totouch her."
“他根本贏不了我們，愛德華。他甚至沒有機(jī)會(huì)摸到她的半根頭發(fā)。”
"He'll wait."
“他會(huì)等著的。”
Emmett smiled. "I can wait, too."
艾美特笑了。“我也能等。”
"You didn't see — you don't understand. Once he commits to a hunt, he's unshakable. We'dhave to kill him."
“你看不見——你不明白。一旦他決定了某個(gè)獵物，他就會(huì)堅(jiān)定不移地追獵到底。我們必須殺了他。”
Emmett didn't seem upset by the idea. "That's an option."
艾美特并沒有被這個(gè)想法難倒。“這也是一個(gè)選擇。”
"And the female. She's with him. If it turns into a fight, the leader will go with them, too."
“還有那個(gè)女人。她和他是一對(duì)。如果這最終會(huì)演變成一場(chǎng)戰(zhàn)役，那個(gè)首領(lǐng)也會(huì)和他們站在一起。”
"There are enough of us."
“我們有足夠的人手。”
"There's another option," Alice said quietly.
“還有另一個(gè)選擇。”愛麗絲安靜地說道。
Edward turned on her in fury, his voice a blistering snarl. "There — is — no — other — option!"
愛德華狂怒地轉(zhuǎn)過頭去看著她，他的聲音是一種震撼的咆哮。“沒——有——另——一——個(gè)——選——擇!”
Emmett and I both stared at him in shock, but Alice seemed unsurprised. The silence lasted fora long minute as Edward and Alice stared each other down.
艾美特和我都震驚地看著他，但愛麗絲似乎絲毫不感到意外。沉默持續(xù)了很久，愛德華和愛麗絲對(duì)視了許久，想要逼得對(duì)方低下頭。
I broke it. "Does anyone want to hear my plan?"
我打破了沉默。“有人想聽聽我的計(jì)劃嗎?”
"No," Edward growled. Alice glared at him, finally provoked.
“不。”愛德華咆哮道。愛麗絲瞪著他，終于被激怒了。
"Listen," I pleaded. "You take me back."
“聽著，”我懇求道。“你帶我回去。”
"No," he interrupted.
“不。”他打斷了我的話。
I glared at him and continued. "You take me back. I tell my dad I want to go home to Phoenix. Ipack my bags. We wait till this tracker is watching, and then we run. He'll follow us and leaveCharlie alone. Charlie won't call the FBI on your family. Then you can take me any damned placeyou want."
我怒視著他，繼續(xù)說道：“你帶我回去。我告訴我爸爸我要回鳳凰城的家。我會(huì)打包好行李。我們一直等到那個(gè)追獵者看到這一切為止，然后我們就跑路。他會(huì)跟著我們，留下查理一個(gè)人。那樣查理就不會(huì)呼叫FBI來解決你的家人。在這之后，隨你想帶我去那里都行。”
