[00:01.56]A Good Lesson 痛心的教訓(xùn) [00:08.30]It was Sunday. 那天是星期天。 [00:09.50]The trains were crowded. 火車上乘客很多。 [00:12.04]A gentleman was walking along the platform looking for a place. 一個(gè)紳士沿著站臺(tái)一路尋找座位。 [00:17.08]In one of the cars he saw a vacant seat. 在車廂里，他看到了一個(gè)空座位， [00:20.21]But a samll suit-case was lying on it 但是上面放著只小提箱， [00:22.58]and a stout gentleman was sitting next to it. 一個(gè)胖紳士坐在提箱旁邊。 [00:26.36]"Is this seat vacant?" asked the gentleman. “這座位沒人吧?”紳士問道。 [00:29.40]"No, it is my friend's," answered the gentleman. “不，這是我朋友的座位?！蹦俏患澥炕卮?， [00:32.48]"He is just coming--this is his suitcase." “他就要來(lái)了——這是他的小提箱。” [00:36.01]"Well," said the gentleman, “那么，”紳士說， [00:37.57]"I'll sit here till he comes." “我先坐著，他來(lái)了再說?！? [00:40.42]Five minutes later the train started, 五分鐘后火車開動(dòng)了， [00:42.53]but nobody came. 可是他的朋友并沒有來(lái)。 [00:44.35]"Your friend is late," said the gentleman. “你的朋友遲到了。”紳士說， [00:47.13]"He has missed his train, “他趕不上火車了。 [00:48.56]but he need not lose his suitcase." 可他不該把提箱也弄丟了?！? [00:51.17]And with these words he took the suitcase and threw it out of the window. 說著，他拿起小提箱，扔出了窗外。 [00:56.14]The stout gentleman got up and tried to catch the suitcase, 那個(gè)胖紳士趕緊站起來(lái)，想抓住那個(gè)小提箱， [00:59.45]but it was too late. 可是為時(shí)已晚。 [01:01.39]It was his suitcase 那是他的小提箱， [01:03.04]and he had taken a second seat for his own comfort. 他本想占兩個(gè)位子，讓自己舒服些。
