A young man was in love with a beautiful girl. Oneday she said to him, "It is my birthdaytomorrow.""Oh," said the young man, "I'll send youroses, on e rose for each year of your life."
一個(gè)年輕人愛上了一位美麗的姑娘。一天，姑娘對(duì)他說：“明天是我生日。”“噢，”年輕人說，“我要送給你玫瑰花，一朵代表一歲。”
The same evening he went to a florist's. As he knewthat the girl was twenty-two years old, he paid fortwenty-two roses and asked the florist to send them to the girl the next day.
當(dāng)天晚上他到花店去了。他知道這姑娘22歲，就付了22朵花的錢，并要花店主人在第二天把花送給那位姑娘。
The florist knew the young man very well as he had often brought flowers in his shop before.When the young man left the shop, the florist thought:

"This young man is a very good customer. I think that my price was too high. I will send tenmore roses."

He did so. The next morning thirty-two roses were sent to the girl. When the young man cameto see her she didn't want to speak to him. And he never knew why she was so angry with him.
他這么做了。第二天早上，32朵玫瑰花就送到了那位姑娘那里。當(dāng)年輕人去看她時(shí)，她不愿意理他。他怎么也弄不明白，為什么她生他的氣。
