心不在焉的教授
A notoriously absent-minded professor was one dayobserved walking along the street with one footcontinually in the gutter, the other on the pavement.
有一位教授，因心不在焉而無人不曉。有一天，人們看見他在馬路上走，一只腳一直踏在路邊的排水溝里，另一只腳踩在人行道上。
A student meeting him said: "Good evening,professor. What's the matter?"
一個(gè)學(xué)生碰見他，問道：“晚上好，教授。您怎么了?”
"Well," answered the professor, "I was all right when I left home, but now I don't know what'sthe matter with me. I've been limping for the last half-hour."
“啊，”教授回答說，“我離開家的時(shí)候還挺好的，可是現(xiàn)在我不知道出了什么毛病。我已經(jīng)一瘸一拐走了半個(gè)小時(shí)了。”
