One warm summer morning before breakfast awealthy gentleman, living an easeful life, waswandering in the park near his house.
一個(gè)溫暖的夏日早上,過(guò)著舒適生活的富有紳士在早飯前來(lái)到附近的公園里散步。
Suddenly he saw a man, who was sitting under a nuttree. The billionaire had never met this man before.The man was rather pale and poorly dressed.
突然他看到一個(gè)人坐在一棵榛樹(shù)下。富人以前從沒(méi)見(jiàn)過(guò)這人,他臉色蒼白,衣服破舊。
When the wealthy gentleman approached him, the man in shabby clothes rose and said with astrong southern accent, “Good morning, sir, a fine day, you come out rather early.”
富有的紳士走過(guò)去,這個(gè)身穿破衣服的男子站起來(lái)用很濃重的南方口音說(shuō):“早上好,先生,多好的天氣,您這么早就出來(lái)了。”
“Yes, I did.” answered the wealthy man,“I came out to see if I can get an appetite for mybreakfast. But what are you doing here at such an early hour?”
“是的,”富有的紳士說(shuō),“我出來(lái)看看能否讓我對(duì)我的早餐更有點(diǎn)胃口,但你這么早在這兒又是為了什么呢?”
“You see, sir,” said the man in rags,“I came out to see if I can get a breakfast for my appetite.”
“你知道的,先生,”穿破衣服的男人說(shuō),“我出來(lái)是看看我能否為我的胃口找頓早餐。”
