A film crew was on location deep in an inland town.One day an Indian went up to the director and said, "Tomorrow thunder." The next day it thundered.
一個電影攝制組在一個內(nèi)地小鎮(zhèn)工作。一天,一個印度人來到導(dǎo)演跟前告訴他說:“明天打雷。”第二天果然打雷了。
A week later, the Indian went up to the director andsaid, "Tomorrow windy." The next day, there was agale.
一周后,印度人又來告訴導(dǎo)演說:“明天刮風(fēng)。”果然,第二天刮起了一場大風(fēng)。
The director was very satisfied with the Indian's wisdom, and thought he was a superman. Sohe told his secretary to hire the Indian to forecast the weather and promised a good salary tohim.
導(dǎo)演對印度人的智慧很滿意,覺得他是個超人,于是他告訴秘書雇傭該印度人來預(yù)報天氣,并答應(yīng)付給他很好的酬勞。
However, after several successful forecasts, the Indian didn't show up for two weeks.
幾次預(yù)報都很成功,可接下來的兩周,印度人卻再也沒有出現(xiàn)。
Finally the director sent for him. "I have to shoot a big scene tomorrow," said the director, "and I'm depending on you. What will the weather be like?"
最后導(dǎo)演派人去把他叫來了。“我明天要拍一個很大的場景,”導(dǎo)演說,“全靠你了。明天天氣如何啊?”
The Indian shrugged his broad shoulders. "Don't know," he said, "Radio is broken. Nobroadcasting."
印度人聳了聳他的肩膀。“我不知道,”印度人說,“收音機(jī)壞了,沒辦法聽廣播了。”
