Nancy smiled and thanked the butler. 南希微笑著向男管家致謝。 [01:09.39]That night the police came back and arrested the butler for murder. 那晚警方回來以謀殺罪名逮捕了男管家。 [01:14.14]Why else would he say he got a call from a man who had been dead two weeks, if not to cover his own tracks? 如果他不是為了掩飾自己所犯的罪行，又何必謊稱接到一個已經(jīng)死了兩個禮拜的人打來的電話呢?

第9單元謀殺之謎

Nancy had been hired to solve the murder case. A very rich woman had been killed in her bed. The butler said her husband was the only one who sawher that night. He and the two maids were sleeping downstairs.

南希被雇來解決一樁謀殺案。有名超級富婆在她床上被人殺了。男管家說她丈夫是哪天晚上唯一看過她的人，而他和另外兩名女仆則在樓下睡覺。

Nancy investigated the dead woman's room. There were two fingerprints and no sign of a murder weapon. It looked like the husband had done it. But where was he?

南希調(diào)查了死者的房間，那里既沒有指紋也沒有使用過什么謀殺兇器的征兆。看來真的是她丈夫干的。可是他人跑哪里去了?

A week later, Nancy got a call at work. Someone found the woman's husband dead in the river. He drove off the road before his wife's murder. So he couldn't have killed his wife. Who was the murderer?

一個禮拜后，南希工作時，接到了一通電話。有人發(fā)現(xiàn)那名死亡婦人的丈夫死在河里。他在他老婆被謀殺前一周就開車外出，所以不可能殺害自己的妻子。那誰才是兇手呢?

Nancy went back to where the woman was killed. The butler was there. He said, "Mrs. I just got a call from the husband confessing the murder. He is too ashamed to come home." Nancy smiled and thanked the butler.
