1.cheatin a. 騙人的 (此處指『不忠的』)=cheating

Cheat vt. & vi. 欺騙; 不忠 (與 on 并用)

例:He was found cheating on the exam.(他被發(fā)現(xiàn)考試作弊。)

The wife cheated on her husband.

=The wife was unfaithful to her husband.(這妻子對她丈夫不貞。)

2.weep vi. 流淚; 哭泣 (三態(tài)為: weep、wept [ w　pt ]、wept)

例:As soon as she found that she had passed the examination, she wept for joy.

(她一發(fā)現(xiàn)自己通過了考試，馬上喜極而泣。)

6.toss vi. 輾轉反側 (與around并用)

例:She tossed around in bed all night.(她整夜在床上輾轉難眠。)

注意:

英美人士在日常對話中, 表示『輾轉反側』時, 并不使用toss around一語, 而用toss and turn。

故上例若改為下例, 是更常用的說法:

例:She tossed and turned all night.(她整晚輾轉難眠。)

a.walk當不及物動詞時, 表『步行』。

b.walk當及物動詞時, "walk + the floor/the streets"當『在地板/街道　上走動』解。

例:The police patrols walked the streets every night.(警察巡邏人員每晚都在街上巡邏。)

c.walk + 人/狗時, walk仍是一個及物動詞, 當『陪人走路』或『遛　狗』解。

例:I walk my little brother to school every day.(我每天陪小弟走路上學。)

Tom used to walk his dog every morning.(湯姆以前每天早上有遛狗的習慣。)

9.Your cheatin heart will pine someday, and crave the love you threw away.

→Someday youll remember what youve done and will thus feel sad and become ill, and you will be eager to get back the love which you threw away.
