The government of Malaysia said on Monday it “will notrest” until a missing Malaysian airplane is found. Transport Minister Hishammudin Hussein released astatement to mark 100 days since the disappearance ofMalaysia Airlines Flight 370.
It said, “One hundred days after MH370 went missing, its loss remains a painful voice in the hearts of allMalaysians and those around the world.” Thestatement continued, “We cannot and will not rest untilMH370 is found.”
The plane disappeared on March 8 on a flight from theMalaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur, to Beijing. It wascarrying 239 passengers and crew members at thetime. The plane’s disappearance shocked the world.
Government officials and international experts generallybelieve the plane went down in the southern IndianOcean. Yet not a single piece of physical evidence has been recovered.
The never-ending questions have made the past 100days even more difficult for the families and loved onesof those on the flight.

On Sunday, family members of some of the people on MH370 gathered in Beijing and Kuala Lumpur to mark100 days since the flight disappeared.
Jacquita Gonzalez spoke at an observance in KualaLumpur. She is the wife of a Malaysia Airlines crewmember who was on the plane. She said, “We hopepeople don’t forget about this, because it’s just likegetting quiet and quieter. So we need to make peoplerealize there are still people missing out there, and theyneed to be found.”
Nicolette Gomes is the daughter of another crew member. She said, “I don’tthink it’s only me. I think the whole world wants to know what happened to theplane. But of course, we all want them back, whatever form they come back. As long as they are found and they come back.” The Associated Press newsagency reported her comments.
