Can’t hold a candle to someone
1. 解詞釋義
Cannot hold a candle to someone的字面意思是“不能為某人持握住蠟燭”，比喻為“遠(yuǎn)遠(yuǎn)不如”“不能相提并論”“不可與日耳語”或“給人提鞋跟都夠不上”等等意思。我們常用“秉燭之能”來諷刺某人的無能，無用。
