　　brush off

　　1. 解詞釋義

　　Brush off的原意是“刷掉，刷掉, 撣掉, 拂掉”的意思。例如：Dust on the surface brushes off easily. (表面的灰塵容易撣掉。)Please brush this insect off.(請把這只蟲撣掉。)在口語中，可以用來表示“拒絕，漠視，不理睬”等意思。

　　使用這個短語的時候，注意brush off之間既可以接something，也可以接somebody。它除了做動詞短語用外，還可以做名次短語用，但是需要用—連字符將其連接起來。例如：She gave me the brush -off. (她不理我。)I wanted to keep in touch, but when I called him he gave me the brush-off.(我想和他保持聯(lián)系，但當(dāng)我打電話給他時，他卻不理睬我。)

　　e.g. Nixon was less likely to brush off the bearer of unwelcome intelligence.

　　1. as if的意思是“好像，似乎”，是復(fù)合連詞，引導(dǎo)的狀語從句中的謂語要使用虛擬語氣。例如：

　　The house seemed muted, hushed as if it had been deserted.

　　房子里似乎悄然無聲，安靜得好像已經(jīng)沒人在住一樣。

　　She could hear his ragged breathing, as if he had been running.

　　她能聽到他不均勻的呼吸聲，似乎他是跑著過來的。

　　2. talk to sb. about something的意思是和某人談?wù)撌裁词虑椋⒁庹Z序的放置，人位于事物或事件之前。

　　He intends to talk to young people about the dangers of AIDS.
