　　1. 解詞釋義

　　有的人明知自己有壞習(xí)慣，也很想把它改掉?？墒敲看蜗露Q心后不久又慢慢走上回頭路，之前所下的功夫就全功盡棄了。美國(guó)人就把這樣的人叫做“backslider”，指“想改掉壞習(xí)慣，但改了一段時(shí)間后又恢復(fù)老習(xí)慣的人。”

　　它是動(dòng)詞“backslide”的名詞形式，則表示做這樣的事情的人。Backslide的意思有“退步，倒退，故態(tài)復(fù)萌;退縮回去;重犯錯(cuò)誤”。例如： You've done a good job in the exam, I hope you won't backslide.(你考試考得不錯(cuò)，我希望你不要退步。)The national economy, meanwhile, is continuing to backslide.(美國(guó)經(jīng)濟(jì)，在此期間，正在繼續(xù)倒退。)
