1. 解詞釋義
Go whole hog是一個(gè)俚語(yǔ),起源于十七世紀(jì)的英國(guó)。當(dāng)時(shí)的英國(guó)稱一個(gè)先令(shilling)為一個(gè)hog,而一個(gè)hog能買不少東西,go whole hog就是一次把一個(gè)先令全部花完,一點(diǎn)不剩。后來(lái)引申為“徹底完成某事,全力以赴完成某事”。表示去徹底或全力以赴去完成某事,在短語(yǔ)的后面用介詞in,即為:go the whole hogin doing something or something。
