漢語(yǔ)中我們用“渴”來(lái)表示強(qiáng)烈的愿望,從而有了“如饑似渴”“渴望”等生動(dòng)的詞語(yǔ)。而英語(yǔ)中的“die”則有異曲同工之妙,也是用來(lái)形容非常急切的愿望或強(qiáng)烈的愿望。Be dying to do something或者是be dying forsomething是“想得要命”的意思,意思是desire excessively。
