　　1. 解詞釋義

　　Could turkey的意思是“毫無(wú)準(zhǔn)備，缺乏誠(chéng)意”“果斷毅然”。西方人最大的節(jié)日就是圣誕節(jié)了，過(guò)節(jié)時(shí)家家都準(zhǔn)備火雞，而不精配料的火雞是最容易做的，它幾乎不花心思來(lái)準(zhǔn)備，商店里隨處都可以買到現(xiàn)成的。然后，冷火雞的味道就相差太遠(yuǎn)了。所以切忌用could turkey來(lái)招待客人，否則客人覺得你沒有誠(chéng)意，而拂袖而去。其英文解釋為："Cold turkey" describes the actions of a person who abruptly gives up a habit oraddiction rather than gradually easing the process through gradual reduction or by usingreplacement medication.

　　跟不同的動(dòng)詞搭配有不同的意思，talk turkey to sb.的意思是“直接坦率地與某人說(shuō)話”，talk could turkey的意思是做即興演說(shuō)，go cold turkey的意思是“斷然停止”，quit cold turkey的意思是“斷然戒煙”。

　　Ps 2：give a speech的意思是“做演講”。例如：
