1. 解詞釋義
Devil的意思是“魔鬼”。在基督教文化里，魔鬼時(shí)候背板上帝的邪惡之靈，被正義的天使大敗，驅(qū)逐出天堂。從此魔鬼就在地獄稱王，并承認(rèn)人間的萬惡之源。
Raise的意思是“惹起，使出現(xiàn)”。從在面上看，raise the devil的意思就是“讓牛鬼蛇神都出籠，鬧得雞犬不寧”，引申為“暴跳如雷，大叫大罵”或“大聲訓(xùn)斥一個(gè)人”。
表示“大聲訓(xùn)詞一個(gè)人”或者是“對(duì)某人暴跳如雷”，“對(duì)某人大叫大罵”，在短語的后面用介詞with，即為：raise a devil with sb.。
