　　1. 解詞釋義

　　Doghouse是一個有兩個詞組成的復合詞，一個是dog(狗)，一個是house(房子)。Doghouse的原意就是“狗睡的房子”，也就是“狗窩”。Be in the doghouse with作為習語，它的意思是“使某人很生氣”，因為做了不開心的事情，以至于被懲罰到跟狗睡在一起。其英文解釋為：in trouble; in (someone's) disfavor。因此，對話中“I am in the doghouse with my mon and dad. ”的意思是“我的父母一直對我很生氣。”

　　2. 典型范例

　　e.g. I'm really in the doghouse with my boss. I was late for an appointment.

　　我的上司對我很生氣，因為我開會遲到了。

　　1. 解詞釋義

　　形容詞wall-to-wall的字面意思是“墻到墻”，這個詞語源于房間內(nèi)地毯的鋪法：從一邊的墻鋪到另外一邊的墻，即：鋪滿了整個房間。所以它的原意就是“鋪滿整個地板的”。如今，這個詞語已經(jīng)運用到生活的很多方面了，表示“布滿整個區(qū)域的”。所以對話中“There is nothing in the hall but wall-to-wall people.”的意思就是“大廳里擠滿了人。”

　　e.g. The cocktail party last night was so crowded. There were wall-to-wall people.
