[00:18.83]Your work in business will involve communication—a lot of it
[00:24.76]—because communication is a major and essential of the work of business.
[00:31.74]Throughout a company workers send and receive information.
[00:37.38]They process information with computers,write messages,
[00:43.55]fill out froms,give and receive orders,and talk over the telephone.

[00:54.07]salespeople receive instructions and information from the home office

[02:37.96]In a business,it is the vehicle through which management performs its basic functions.

[02:49.38]coordinate through communication and control through communication.

[03:08.16]All too often they do not get them,
[03:12.24]however,because most employees,even the college trained,

[03:21.74]Among the recent studies that support this observation,
[03:27.31]perhaps the most notable reports that one of the four major criticisms of today's
[03:34.67]college-trained people is their "poor communication and,especially,
[03:41.23]written communication."
