[00:00.01] Unit 03 Tell Mommy I Love Her John had been on the road visiting clients for three weeks. [00:10.10] He could not wait to get back to his wife and kids. [00:13.36] It was coming up on Mother's day, and he usually tried to make it" back home", [00:19.29] but this year he was too tired. [00:21.39] When he drove by a flower shop, he said to himself," I know what I 'll do. [00:28.02] I 'll send Mom roses." He went into the shop and saw a boy talking to the clerk. [00:34.19]" How many roses can I get for six dollars, ma'am?" the clerk was trying to explain that roses were expensive. [00:42.45] Maybe the boy would be happy with carnations. [00:46.45]" No, I have to have roses." He said." Mom was sick so much last year and I did not get to spend much time with her. [00:55.36] It has to be roses, because that's her favorite." Something inside of John was touched by the boy's voice. [01:04.41] He silently mouthed to the clerk that he would pay for the boy's roses. [01:10.13] The clerk looked at the boy and said," Okay, I will give you a dozen roses for your six dollars. [01:18.43]" The boy almost jumped into the air. [01:21.11] He took the flowers and ran out. [01:23.45] It was worth the extra thirty five dollars just to see this kind of excitement. [01:31.00] John ordered his own flowers and had the clerk to be sure that delivery would include a note telling his mother how much he loved her. [01:40.31] As he drove away from the shop, he was feeling good. [01:43.35] He caught a light about two blocks from the shop. [01:46.56] As he waited, he saw the boy with the roses entering a cemetery. [01:53.17] The light changed, and John slowly crossed the intersection. [01:57.06] He pulled over and on an impulse got out and began to follow the boy. [02:02.18] The boy stopped by a small monument and went to his knees. [02:07.17] He laid the roses on the grave and began to sob. [02:12.11] John stared at the little boy's trembling body and listened to his crying. [02:17.10] Then John heard the boy cry," Oh, Mommy, why did not I tell you how much I love you. [02:24.00] Why did not I tell you one more time? Jesus, please, find my Mommy. Tell my Mommy I love her. [02:34.31]" John turned, tears in his eyes. [02:37.02] He drove quickly to the florist and told her he would take the flowers personally. [02:42.25] He wanted to tell his mother one more time just how much he loved her.
