范例一：Double pay 雙倍工資

Would you like to have dinner with me tonight?

你今天要和我一起吃晚餐嗎?

Sorry, I have to work overtime.

對不起，我要加班。

You are really career minded.

你真有事業(yè)心。

My boss promised to pay me double time.

我老板答應付我雙倍工資。

范例二：Work late at night 晚上工作到很晚

You didn’t show up in the morning meeting. What’s up?

你沒有參加今天早上的會議。你怎么了?

Well, I just came in. I worked overtime yesterday. Some statistics and very important documents seemed to be inaccurate. So I stayed to double check them. The boss was aware of my very late work of last night. So before he left office, he told me I could come one hour later this morning.

恩，我剛剛進來。我昨晚加班了。一些統(tǒng)計資料和一些重要的文件出錯了。所以我再核對了一次。老板知道我昨晚工作到很晚。所以他離開辦公室之前告訴我，我今天早上可以遲一個鐘頭上班。

But you still look a little bit tired. What time did you leave?

但是你看起來仍然有點累。你什么時候離開的?

It was around 1:30 in the morning. I guess I didn’t fall asleep till 3 because those numbers were involving in my mind. I just couldn’t stop thinking about them.

凌晨1點半左右。我直到3點鐘才睡著，因為那些數(shù)字一直在我的腦海里閃現(xiàn)。我不能停止去想那些數(shù)字。

That’s normal after a tense work evening. Working overtime is not always a pleasant experience for me either. Once, I worked overtime everyday for a whole week including the weekend. That really broke my rhythm and I got a little sick later.

晚上緊張工作之后出現(xiàn)這種情況是正常的。加班對我來說也是一種不愉快的經(jīng)歷。有一次我整個星期每天都在加班，包括周末。那真的打破了我的節(jié)奏，之后我就生了一場小病。

Working at weekend is something I hate to do most.

周末加班時我最討厭做的事。

But if the company asks, what else can we do?

但是如果是公司要求的，我們還能做什么呢?

范例三：Regular overtime 經(jīng)常加班

Do you know that working overtime in some companies is a regular thing?

你知道嗎?在一些公司，加班是經(jīng)常的事。

How regular? 有多經(jīng)常?

An average ten hours or more a day according to a survey, the worst thing is that the employees get no pay for that.

根據(jù)一項調(diào)查，平均一天10個鐘頭或者更多，最糟糕的是員工沒有得到補償。

You are kidding me? It is against the labor law. They should be aware of their rights.

你是在開玩笑吧?那是違法勞動法的。他們應該知道他們的權(quán)利。

But these people say nothing about that. They are worried about losing their job because there is surplus in labor force these days.

但是這些人什么都沒有說。他們擔心失去工作，因為現(xiàn)在勞力過剩。

That’s not right, somebody should do something.

那是不對的，有人應該要做點什么。
