在第九課里，您將學(xué)習(xí)如何為人指路，您也將學(xué)習(xí)如何提建議，以及當(dāng)他人要求對(duì)問題加以澄清時(shí)，如何回應(yīng)。另外您將練習(xí)估計(jì)時(shí)間?，F(xiàn)在請(qǐng)聽對(duì)話的第一部分與中文翻譯。酒店客人蒙納與她的父親杰克打算去購物，他們向酒店前臺(tái)接待員利奧問路查詢方向?，F(xiàn)在讓我們開始這一課的學(xué)習(xí)。
利奧: 早上好，懷特女士和偉博先生
Leo: Good morning, Ms White, Mr Webber.
杰克: 早上好，利奧
Jack: Good morning, Leo.
蒙納: 你好，利奧。這附記有什么大的購物中心嗎?
Mona: Hi, Leo. Is there a major shopping centre nearby?
利奧: 星光購物中心里面有一百多家店鋪，我相信您一定可以在那里找到您想要的東西。

Leo: The Starlight Shopping Centre has over a hundred shops. I’m sure you’ll find what you want there.
蒙納: 去那里的路怎么走?
Mona: How do we get there?
利奧: 出了酒店先向右拐，到了交通燈再向左拐，然后沿著路
一直向前走，再到了一個(gè)交通燈后就過馬路，看到一個(gè)粉色的塔再向右拐。
Leo: Well, turn right outside the hotel and left at the traffic lights.Go straight up the street, cross at the next set of lights and turnright at the pink tower. …
蒙納: 天哪，這可真是難記住啊。
Mona: Oh dear, that’s too hard to remember.
利奧: 那么就叫一輛記程車吧。您可以在酒店外面找到記程車。
Leo: Well then, what about a taxi? You can get one just outside thehotel.
現(xiàn)在請(qǐng)您注意聽下列有關(guān)指路的短語并跟著重復(fù)向右轉(zhuǎn)

沿著路一直向前走

您注意到了嗎?利奧在為客人指路時(shí)提到了很多地標(biāo)，例如交通燈和粉色的塔等等，但是他沒有使用街道的名稱，這主要是因?yàn)閷?duì)于講英語的游客來說，讓他們看懂以另外一種語言書寫的街道名稱是不可能的事情。好，現(xiàn)在讓我們聽聽利奧是如何向客人提議叫一輛記程車的。在英語里，記程車有兩個(gè)說法，一個(gè)是taxi，另外一種說法就是cab。
Leo: Well then, what about a taxi?
在這種情況下，您可以使用how about…. 這個(gè)短語句式，也可以用更加正規(guī)的說法，那就是May I suggest….請(qǐng)聽老師的示范。

你注意到了嗎?right 這個(gè)英文字實(shí)際上在中文里有兩個(gè)不同的意思。它可以是左右的“右”，比如說向右轉(zhuǎn)，turn right, 也可以表示對(duì)錯(cuò)的“對(duì)”, 比如說that’s right.
