Hello! 大家好, 這里是廣播學(xué)口語(yǔ), 歡迎大家光臨. 上次我們看到了Tom精神沮喪,和女朋友在感情上出現(xiàn)了危機(jī), 可到現(xiàn)在也沒(méi)有緩和。 讓我們來(lái)看看他悲慘的遭遇吧.

女朋友一改往日的溫情脈脈.把身子一扭"Give him the cold shoulder"."shoulder "就是"肩膀".顯然女朋友真的生氣了."Give sb. the cold shoulder" 是"對(duì)某人不友好,冷落某人"的意思.

要說(shuō)Tom還真傻.He said:"I don’t know what’s wrong, but she has been giving the cold shoulder recently."(我不知道做錯(cuò)了什么嗎?她最近總是對(duì)我很冷淡.)有哪一個(gè)女孩子能容忍自己的男友想著別人呢?還特別是把女友的生日記錯(cuò)了? 還是趕快道歉吧.

But unfortunately, no matter what Tom said, his girlfriend still gave him the cold shoulder.It seems that she has made up her mind to break up with Tom. (很不幸,無(wú)論Tom怎么說(shuō),女友對(duì)的態(tài)度依舊是那么的冷淡,看樣子,她是真的下定決 心要和Tom分手了. Tom的處境是不是很悲慘呢?

看到Tom 這個(gè)樣子,Andy實(shí)在是于心不忍.安慰他說(shuō):"Don’t be like this, dear Tom. You know there are plenty of other fish in the sea. You are so handsome, bright and hard-working; you will find another girlfriend in less than no time."

"there are plenty of other fish in the sea"這個(gè)句子我們已經(jīng)學(xué)過(guò)了.是"天涯何處無(wú)芳草".那"less than no time"是什么意思,它們之間是不是有沖突呢.我們知道,Less than a month 是不到一個(gè)月的時(shí)間.Less than a minute 不到一分鐘的時(shí)間. "less than no time".我們可以理解成比任何時(shí)間都快,就是"很快"的意思. 那么Andy是這么說(shuō)的"不要這個(gè)樣子,你知道,天涯何處無(wú)芳草,你又聰明又這么帥氣,工 作又努力.很快就會(huì)再找到新的女友的."

和Tom比較起來(lái).Andy要算是很幸福的了.因?yàn)槔掀攀悄敲吹暮媚敲吹捏w貼.Andy忽然想起了什么.這天回家妻子正忙著作晚飯.只聽(tīng)她對(duì)Andy說(shuō):"Just relax for a few minute .It will take me less than no time to get the dinner ready.(你先休息一下,晚飯馬上就好.)可是Andy從身后拿出一枝玫瑰來(lái):"送給我辛苦的老婆."
