一檔節(jié)目引發(fā)的“娘炮之爭"

A heated debate on China's new feminine-looking male celebrities has flooded Sina Weibo, China's Twitter-like social media platform, as CCTV aired four young male singers in its television special First Class of the New Semester on Sept 1.

央視9月1日播出的電視特別節(jié)目《開學第一課》中有四位年輕男歌手表演，之后有關(guān)陰柔男星的熱烈討論席卷了微博等國內(nèi)社交媒體平臺。

"娘炮"的英文可以用sissy來表達。這個詞雖然長得很像形容詞但卻也可以當名詞用，所以 "He is a sissy(他是個娘炮)." 其實是正確的。當然，你也可以拿 sissy 當形容詞用，比方說，"I'm not playing that sissy game with you (我才不跟你們玩那些女生玩的游戲呢) ."

這臺電視特別節(jié)目由央視和教育部聯(lián)手制作，特別為我國小學生打造，要求全國大部分小學生必須觀看(be compulsory for most of the country's elementary students)。憤怒的家長以激烈的言辭痛批這些年輕明星(harshly criticized the youthful celebrities)，用"不能生孩子的漂亮女孩"一類詞語嘲諷他們，并呼吁有關(guān)部門封殺娘娘腔明星(call on authorities to ban the effeminate stars)，以防下一代有樣學樣(in case the next generation would adopt their example)。

馮先生是一名五歲男孩的父親，他表示自己很擔心兒子在娘炮明星的影響下，在學校的言行舉止會非常娘娘腔( behave in a feminine way in school)。另一些聲音則敦促社會應(yīng)尊重人們對娘娘腔或男子氣概選擇的權(quán)利(respect people's rights to be as feminine or masculine as they choose)。

"It is important to stay true to your heart," said a mother of a 4-year-old boy, adding, "I will give my son all my support as long as he chooses a path he likes."

一名4歲男孩兒的媽媽稱，忠于內(nèi)心很重要，只要我兒子選擇他喜歡的路，我就予以全力支持。

網(wǎng)友觀點PK: 對"娘炮"的批評都源于"性別刻板印象?

新浪微博一位網(wǎng)友評論稱，如果一個男人想要打扮成女人的模樣，我會予以尊重。但這不應(yīng)該是主流審美(mainstream aesthetic)，公眾人物(public figures)尤其應(yīng)當避免這么做。

但有些網(wǎng)友稱，這類觀點屬于性別刻板印象，缺乏多樣性(such views fall into gender stereotyping and lack diversity)。微博用戶Huiyu評論稱："對于男性之美或陽剛之氣不應(yīng)只有一種標準(there should not be only one standard on male beauty or masculinity)。你可以選你喜歡的，也應(yīng)容忍別人喜歡的，這就夠了。多樣使世界美好(diversity makes the world beautiful)。

"Requiring that boys have to be masculine is like saying girls must be sweet and gentle," another netizen commented.

另一位網(wǎng)友則評論稱，要求男孩子具有男子氣概，就跟說女孩子必須溫柔可愛一樣。

主流媒體加入論戰(zhàn) 新華社VS人民日報

新華社9月6日發(fā)表評論員文章對這些娘炮偶像進行痛批，稱如果我國年輕人效仿這些流行偶像的言語或衣著方式(follow the way these pop idols speak or dress)，則他們將面臨一場陽剛危機( a crisis of masculinity)。

這篇文章寫道："他們看起來性別模糊(look androgynous)卻妝容精致(wear delicate makeup)，長身玉立卻如弱柳扶風(they are slender and weak)，動輒把"討厭(Oh, charming)"，"嚇死寶寶了(I'm scared to death)"，"小拳拳捶你胸口"掛在嘴邊;他們既在電影電視中這樣演，在綜藝節(jié)目和日常生活中也同樣"入戲"……

"The impact this sick culture will have on our young generation is immeasurable," read the commentary.

該文章指出："這種病態(tài)的文化對年青一代的影響是不可估量的。"

"The youth are the future of the country… What a country's pop culture embraces, refuses and conveys is something that matters to the future of a country."

青少年是國家的未來……一個國家的流行文化擁抱什么、拒絕什么、傳播什么，是關(guān)系國家未來的大事。

就在新華社論發(fā)表數(shù)小時后，《人民日報》發(fā)文呼吁人們對審美標準的多樣性予以理解和尊重(call for people to understand and respect diversity in aesthetic standards)。

It said that whether a person chooses to be dainty or unkempt, it is that individual's own choice and a rational, mature and permissive society should be inclusive.

文章指出，精致細膩也好，粗枝大條也好，都是一個人審美的選擇，一個理性、成熟、寬容的社會理應(yīng)包容。

這篇文章寫道，判斷一個人，應(yīng)當通過品行而非外形(judge by their virtue rather than their appearance)。人們應(yīng)當更加注重內(nèi)在而不應(yīng)花太多精力關(guān)注外在。

文章還指出不認同新華所謂"娘炮"、"不男不女"等帶有貶損性的說法(derogatory word)，但也呼喚在青少年中有著廣泛影響的明星們(celebrities who boast influence among teenagers)，呈現(xiàn)更加積極、向上的形象(more positive and upbeat image)，展示更加健康、陽光的審美，以應(yīng)有的社會責任(social responsibility)與擔當精神成為真正的偶像。

"男神"標準的變遷

過去幾十年來，男性之美的標準(standard of male beauty)一直在改變。

上世紀80年代早期的本土男神當以朱時茂為典型代表。朱時茂因1982年公映的電影《牧馬人(Herdsman)》受到關(guān)注，成為無數(shù)少女心中的白馬王子(prince charming)、夢幻情人(dream love)。

朱時茂受歡迎，是因為他幾乎滿足了那個年代對于男神的所有標準。濃眉大眼(big eyes and bushy eyebrows)，一看就是好人，當過兵，熒幕形象有強烈的愛國(patriotism)情感。

到了90年代，香港演員周潤發(fā)和劉德華受到追捧，無論男女都趨之若鶩。他們出演過很多義匪和雅賊(play wisecracking gangsters and suave thieves)，他們是那個年代審美標準(aesthetic standard)的代言人。

大熱偶像劇《流星花園》席卷大陸，改變了很多國人有關(guān)男性的審美標準(overturn many Chinese people's aesthetic standards for men)。

The male stars of that series had long and dyed hair, fair skin, and beautiful feminine faces, winning the hearts of school girls.

劇中男星有著染過的長發(fā)、白膩的肌膚和的少女般美麗的面龐，贏得了女生的芳心。

同一時期，隨著類似日韓偶像劇的到來，有著秀美精致形象(dainty and delicate features)的韓國偶像男團受到中國年輕觀眾的青睞。

有評論人士稱，中國經(jīng)濟的增長(economic growth)，人們生活水平的提高和全球時尚潮流趨勢(global fashion trends)都是促使人們審美標準發(fā)生變化的原因。

"After China's opening-up, more people have been exposed to the beauty standards of Japan,South Korea and the West. Gender neutrality has been a global trend in recent years," he said.

他表示，中國改革開放后，更多人接觸到日韓及西方世界的審美標準。近年來，性別中性已成為一種全球趨勢。
