fairly---強(qiáng)調(diào)“一般般”
very……語(yǔ)氣程度強(qiáng)烈“非常”
rahter……語(yǔ)意程度接近fairly,注意修飾形容詞和副詞特別是修飾形容詞同時(shí)修飾名詞時(shí)，不定冠詞的位置

A rather good book/Rather a good book
quite---～right/wrong/mistaken/sure

介詞in 和名詞搭配，表示一種狀態(tài)
　秩序井然；in good order
身體健康：in good health
心境好：in a good mood
脾氣好：　in a good temper

light up:喜氣洋洋，容光煥發(fā)
　Masha's face lit up when she saw her old friend.
His face lighted up at the small triumph.
Tom really lighted up when he saw the new bicycle.
light過(guò)去式，過(guò)去分詞：lit,lighted
但是如果運(yùn)用過(guò)去分詞作定語(yǔ)，表示被動(dòng)點(diǎn)燃的，要用lighted
一支被點(diǎn)燃的雪茄：a lighted cigar
點(diǎn)燃的火炬：a lighted stick

介詞短語(yǔ)---with delight“欣喜若狂地”
with和抽象名詞搭配，表示內(nèi)心充滿了一種感情
　自信地：with confidence
細(xì)心地：with care
驕傲地：with pride
欣喜若狂地：with delight

pounce on :向...猛撲過(guò)去，對(duì)...大作文章
　　The policeman pounced on the thief.
Don't pounce on my mistake.
should have和過(guò)去分詞搭配，表示本應(yīng)該做某事卻沒(méi)有做，具有譴責(zé)性的味道
You should have arrived here five minutes earlier.
You should have told me about it.
本不應(yīng)該做某事：shouldn't have done

exempt: 免除的，被免除的　be～from
Drinks are not exempt from import duty.

as……關(guān)系代詞，引導(dǎo)非限制性定語(yǔ)從句，他所指代的內(nèi)容就是主句的整個(gè)句子的含義，

正如...所提及的：as sb.mentioned
正如我很快得知的：as I soon learned
關(guān)系代詞as和which的區(qū)別：
as所引導(dǎo)的非限制性定語(yǔ)從句，可用在主句之前。
which引導(dǎo)的非限制性定語(yǔ)從句，只能用在主句之后
副詞形式：encouragingly

He was greeted by an unpleasant smell..
greet: 問(wèn)候，向...致意；覺察到,呈現(xiàn)在...眼前，在...耳邊
I woke up and was greeted by a bird's song.
Inside the room a dreaduful mess greeted us.
When he went into the kitchen,a smell greeted him.
