歌手內(nèi)森·奧斯蒙德說(shuō)，跟隨唐尼和瑪麗的腳步“很有趣”

Nathan Osmond is carrying on the legacy of his musical family.

On Saturday, the country singer — who is a "second generation" Osmond — caught up with PEOPLE at Media.com's "The Power of Reputation" panel at the Sundance Film Festival's Impact Lounge.

"It's just been fun to follow in their footsteps," Nathan, 46, tells PEOPLE about stepping into the same spotlight as his famous uncle and aunt Donny Osmond and Marie Osmond,

"I love country music. So I think my Aunt Marie's excited one of us kept it country," adds Nathan, who is the son of Alan Osmond.

The Osmonds, who were comprised of Alan, Wayne, Merrill, Jay and later Donny, skyrocketed to fame in the 1970s with hits such as "One Bad Apple" and "Down by the Lazy River."

In 1976, Donny, now 66, and Marie, 64, began their own act separate from their brothers via a self-titled variety show called Donny & Marie.

In 2008, they launched their Las Vegas residency show, which ran for 11 years. Marie's first country song, 1973's "Paper Roses," went to No. 1 on the Billboard Country Songs chart, while her 1985 duet with Dan Seals "Meet Me in Montana" also claimed the top spot.

Nathan tells PEOPLE he's proud to have a string of his own chart-topping hits like "Sweet" and "The Tailgate Song" on the Independent Country charts.

"Four No.1 hits so far in a row and we just want to keep doing it," the entertainer says with a big smile, noting that he will be performing a residency with Jay Osmond in Branson, Missouri in October, with tickets going on sale Feb. 1.

As for the Osmonds' "diehard" and spillover fan base he expects to see out at his shows, Nathan says there's no one like them and he appreciates their dedication to the family of artists.

"Yeah, we're adorable," the Achieving Awesomeness Now podcast host teases. "It is so crazy how many people know more about my family than I do. It's amazing. The Osmond fans are the most diehard."

"There's only two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame that were paid by the fans of the artists," Nathan continues. "Liza Minnelli and the Osmond family. Do you know how much that meant to us? Our fans are so loyal and they have been for over 60 years."
