Six months after Kesha settled an acrimonious, nearly decade-long legal battle with record producer and label owner Dr. Luke, the singer says she feels "free."

Kesha's legal battle with Dr. Luke, a.k.a. Lukasz Gottwald, began with her 2014 accusation that Gottwald drugged and raped her in 2005. She also accused him of sexual, physical, and emotional abuse that occurred over 10 years, resulting in severe depression, post-traumatic stress, social isolation, and panic attacks. Her lawsuit was dismissed in 2016, but a defamation lawsuit filed by Gottwald against Kesha continued until June, when the parties settled out of court.
