Adele is saying “hello” to Halloween!
On Friday, the singer-songwriter, 35, gave her usual Weekends with Adele Las Vegas show a spooky twist, taking the stage at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in a gothic look fans compared to Morticia Addams.
For the eerie ensemble, Adele wore a floor-length, velvety black gown featuring a long train, vampire-neck collar and sparkly silver belt. She completed the look with a Morticia-esque glam — a smokey eye, cool-toned contour and a long, sleek wig.
The ensemble was not altogether different from her usual onstage looks (which often feature dramatic makeup and floor-length black gowns), but the addition of the dark, billowy wig that touched the singer’s hips took her outfit from glamorous to ghostly — and prompted fan comparisons to The Addams Family matriarch.
Several users on X (formerly known as Twitter) shared footage from the spooky show, which also featured a haunted house and jack-o'-lantern backdrop, using the hashtag #ADELEOWEEN.
In one clip, Adele revealed that she has never dressed up for one of her concerts before — and joked that she may not look like herself in photos and videos taken at the show.
“Do you mind me being in fancy dress, like, in dress-up? Do you mind?” she asked the crowd, who cheered loudly in response.
The “Easy on Me” singer also shared that she had to ditch one spooky accessory.
“I was gonna wear fangs. I had some fangs made just because of Halloween — not that I’m here as a vampire or anything like that,” she told the audience. “And I did my soundcheck with them, and I had a lisp.”
“And so I thought, ‘I can’t not look like me and also not sound like me,’” she added.
After scrapping her fangs, the Grammy winner took the stage to sing classics including “Love in the Dark,” “Hello” and “Rumour Has It.”
在去掉尖牙后,這位格萊美獎得主上臺演唱了《Love in the Dark》、《Hello》和《rumor Has It》等經(jīng)典歌曲。
Earlier this month, Adele announced a final extension of her Las Vegas residency.
The “Skyfall” singer was originally scheduled to wrap up her shows this November, but will now perform 32 additional dates in 2024.
The final leg of Weekends with Adele will kick off in mid-January. Starting Jan. 19, Adele will perform at The Colosseum every Friday and Saturday night through the end of March. After taking off the month of April, she’ll resume in May on the 17th and officially wrap up on June 15.
The singer-songwriter expressed how excited she was to continue her residency — and how impactful the shows have been — in an Instagram post.
“This residency, these shows have changed my life,” she wrote alongside a compilation of clips from the residency. “I desperately needed to fall back in love with performing live again, and I have. I needed to reconnect with my songs and remember what they mean to me, and I have!”
She continued, “Being onstage over the last year so up close and personal with an audience again after all these years has been a truly extraordinary restorative experience that I’ll never forget. All the hilarious, soulful, wild and heartbreaking interactions we’ve had are banked in my mind for life.”
“The looks on your faces, seeing you laugh and cry together singing your hearts out and hoarding bags of confetti,” she wrote. “All the simi dolls, friendship bracelets, flowers, facetime calls and flags. It’s crazy how joyful a show full of sad songs can be!! I’ve felt so much and learned so much about myself and you. It’s humanized everything I thought was scary.”
“Mostly though, it’s just made me realize how much I really enjoy being on stage, that I’m bloody good at it and that it is 100% where I belong!” Adele concluded. “So let’s go one last time before I turn into a showgirl forever! Love you and I’ll see you on the other side soon x.”
