Happiness is a butterfly for Lana Del Rey, and so is bringing music to her fans. Making money doesn't necessarily fall into that category.

The singer-songwriter, 38, wrapped up her mini fall tour in Charleston, West Virginia on Thursday and revealed at the show that she intends to give back all of the proceeds from her ticket sales.

Fans captured footage of the “A&W” singer sharing on stage that all of the money from her 10-date tour of mostly mid-sized southern U.S. cities will be donated back to each one.

“I just wanted to say thank you to you and just every city I’ve gone to before this,” Del Rey said towards the end of her performance. “I also wanted to let you know, for what it’s worth, every ticket, every dollar, it is poured right back into the city.”

The “Candy Necklace” artist continued, “Because it is not about that for me. I know that sounds cheesy, but I tour because I love it… I don’t need to. I just love it, and we’re all about the places we’ve been to.”

“We’re just going to leave quickly after West Virginia, so I just wanted to kind of just say hello, goodbye, I hope this is not the last time we speak,” the songstress said before introducing the final song of the night, the title track off her latest album Did You Know That There's a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd.

Aside from playing in West Virginia, the Grammy-nominated artist kicked off her string of shows in Franklin, Tennessee in September before performing in Texas, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, North Carolina and Pennsylvania.

This tour is not the first time Del Rey has made a significant donation. Ahead of the release of her 2020 poetry book Violet Bent Backwards Over The Grass, the singer shared that half of her advance would be donated to Dig Deep’s Navajo Water Project, helping to provide Navajo Nation with access to clean water.

According to NME, she announced the news with a statement shared to her now-deleted former Instagram account. “As I’ve been lucky enough to be given an advance from Simon and Schuster, I’m so grateful to be able to spread that money around to foundations that are in need of our help, beginning with foundations connected to the Navajo community,” she wrote at the time. “We hope the @digdeepwater project will find relief with the $350,000 that we delivered to them last month. I personally have always believed in personal reparations to give back to the people who have shaped our land.”

In August, Del Rey announced the recently wrapped North American run of tour dates in support of her ninth studio album, which arrived in March of this year to acclaim. The singer-songwriter played the shows in addition to a handful of headlining festival appearances throughout the summer.
