Admire to do sth.很想做某事，admire doing敬佩所做的事。admir是及物動(dòng)詞，通常的結(jié)構(gòu)是admire sb, admire sth,admire sb for sth。

admire基本詞義

1.欽佩，贊美，羨慕：

He’s very much admired by his students. 他的學(xué)生十分欽佩他。

2.觀賞，欣賞：

We stopped to admire the view. 我們停下來(lái)欣賞風(fēng)景。

3.贊美，夸獎(jiǎng)：

1. 其后不接雙賓語(yǔ)或that引導(dǎo)的賓語(yǔ)從句，如可說(shuō)：

I admire his bravery. 但不說(shuō)：

若語(yǔ)義上要接that從句，可考慮改為the fact that結(jié)構(gòu)：

2. 其后不接不定式的復(fù)合結(jié)構(gòu)，即不說(shuō)admire sb to do sth，要表示“羨慕(贊賞)某人做某事”，英語(yǔ)可用admire sb [sb’s] doing sth：

They all admired his behaving so bravely. 他們欽佩他表現(xiàn)如此勇敢。
