Taliban Confirms Death of Leader Mullah Omar

塔利班證實(shí)其領(lǐng)導(dǎo)人奧馬爾死亡

The Taliban officially confirmed Thursday that its founder and leader, Mullah Omar, is dead. The Taliban Supreme Council also namedMullah Akhtar Mansoor as its new leader.

The Taliban did not indicate when Mullah Omar died. On Wednesday, the Afghan government said he died two years ago.
