　　托福閱讀略讀可以略過哪些內(nèi)容呢?

　　1、數(shù)據(jù)類說明或證據(jù)。托福閱讀文章分說明文、議論文和史詩文三種。 在提供論據(jù)或者闡述一個事實時，作者提供的數(shù)據(jù)是不需要看的，所以略去不讀，重要的往往是論點，常為出現(xiàn)在數(shù)據(jù)前的一句話。比如在托福閱讀中出現(xiàn)的內(nèi)容： At the beginning of the nineteenth century，Denmark and Norway had fewer than 1 million people, while Sweden and the Netherlands had fewer than 2.5 million inhabitants. 整句話無非是一個事實，這里那里有多少人口。

　　2、例子。其實數(shù)據(jù)也是例子的一類。這里的例子是作者為了觀點而寫的。識別例子可以使用標(biāo)志詞for example, for instance, such as等，也可以直接判斷那些帶有具體的人名、地名的內(nèi)容為例子。在托福閱讀中，沒有題目直接問到例子的內(nèi)容是什么，這些可以不讀。

　　3、轉(zhuǎn)折前的內(nèi)容，大家在閱讀時可以借助轉(zhuǎn)折詞but, yet, however,nevertheless等詞來判斷句子的轉(zhuǎn)折關(guān)系。在轉(zhuǎn)折關(guān)系出現(xiàn)時，常是為了強調(diào)后面的內(nèi)容，而前面內(nèi)容再長也可以略去不讀。利用轉(zhuǎn)折關(guān)系來略讀內(nèi)容在讀首段時尤為重要。來看一段內(nèi)容： Many plants - one or more species of at least68 different families - can secrete nectar even whenthey have no blossoms, because they bear extrafloral nectaries (structures that producenectar) on stems, leaves, leaf stems, or other structures.These plants usually occur where antsare abundant, most in the tropics but some in temperate areas. Nevertheless, most ecologists believe that all extrafloral nectaries attractinsects that will defend the plant.
