一、插入語的分類

1.副詞作插入語

frankly 坦率地說 fortunately 幸好 honestly 誠實地說 however 然而 indeed的確

Fortunately，I found the book that I’d lost.

幸虧我找到了已丟失的那本書。

This machine is up-to-date，indeed.這臺機器確實是最新式的。

2.形容詞及其短語作插入語

funny 真可笑　　　　　　　true 真的　　　　　　　　most important of all 最為重要

needless to say 不用說　　strange to say 說也奇怪　worse still 更糟糕的

even better 更好　　　　　sure enough 果然

Strange to say，he should have done such a thing.說也奇怪，他竟然做出這樣的事。

Most important of all，you each overfulfilled your own task.

更為重要的，你們各自超額完成了自己的任務(wù)。

3.分詞短語作插入語

broadly speaking 廣義上說　　　　　frankly speaking 坦率地講

generally speaking 一般來說　　　　honestly speaking 誠實地講

narrowly speaking 狹義上說　　　　 roughly speaking 大致說來

personally speaking 就個人而言　　 strictly speaking 嚴(yán)格說來

judging from/by 由……判斷　　　　　 considering ...考慮到

thinking of ...想到　　　　　　　　talking of ...談到

Generally speaking，girls are more interested in literature than boys.

一般說來，女孩比男孩更喜歡文學(xué)。

Considering the weather，the sports meet will be put off.考慮到天氣，運動會將會被推遲。

Judging from her accent，she must be Arabian.聽她的口音，她準(zhǔn)是阿拉伯人。

4.不定式短語作插入語

to be brief 簡單地說　　　　　　　　　to be sure的確；當(dāng)然

to be frank with you 坦白地對你說　　 to be honest 誠實地說

to tell you the truth 說實話　　　　　to begin with 首先

to make matters worse 更糟糕的是　　　to sum up 總之

5.介詞短語作插入語

for instance/example 例如　　　　　　in addition 此外　　　　　　　in fact 事實上

in general 一般說來　　　　　　　　　in one’s opinion 依某人看來　 in other words 換句話說

（1）陳述句作插入語

（2）疑問句作插入語

When do you suppose they’ll be back？ 你認(rèn)為他們什么時候回來？

（3）其他句式

if you like 如果你愿意的話　　　that is （to say）也就是說

what’s more 而且　　　　　　　　what’s worse 更糟的是

That is，as far as I know，not what he really wants.據(jù)我所知，那不是他真正需要的。
