1.there+be中的替換詞

There once lived an old fisherman in a village by the sea.

從前，在海邊的一個村莊里住著一個老漁民。

In front of the cave，there stands/grows a tall pine tree.

在這個山洞前面長著一棵高大的松樹。

There remained just twenty-eight dollars.就只剩下二十八美元了。

There came shouts for help from the river.河邊傳來救命的喊聲。

There lies a large wheat field in front of the house.屋前有一大片麥地。

There exist different opinions on this question.在這個問題上存在著不同的意見。

2.There+情態(tài)動詞+be

There can be no doubt about that.那是毫無疑問的。

There should have been someone on duty all the time.本來，每時每刻都應(yīng)有人值班的。

The light is on.There must be someone in the office.燈亮著，辦公室里肯定有人。

There used to be a temple here.以前這里有一座廟。

3.there+be的變式

There is no difficulty （in）doing ...做……沒有困難

There is no point doing ...做……毫無意義

There is no sense in doing ...做……沒有道理

There is no good in doing ...做……沒好處

There is no use in doing ...做……沒用處

There is nothing worse than doing ...沒有比更糟的……

There is no difficulty （in）doing sth.做某事沒有困難。

There’s no sense in criticizing him.批評他也沒有用。

There’s no point （in）telling her about is.告訴她沒有用。

5.There is no doing 意為“不可能……”、“無法……”

There is no telling what he is going to do．說出他要干什么是不可能的。

There is no saying what may happen.無法說出將要發(fā)生什么。

There is no talking him round.不可能說得他回心轉(zhuǎn)意。

There is no reasoning with such a stubborn man.沒法和這樣固執(zhí)的人講道理。

6.There is no need （for sb.）to do sth.沒必要做某事。

There is no need to tell him again.沒有必要再告訴他。

There is no need to apologize to an unreasonable person.

沒有必要向一個不講道理的人道歉。

There is no need to learn something which you find to be of little value.

沒有必要去研究沒有價值的東西。
